Versowood achieves a silver level rating in its EcoVadis sustainability assessment
Versowood has been awarded a silver level rating in an EcoVadis assessment that rates corporate sustainability in four different areas: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment was conducted in spring 2026.
Now Versowood gained a score of 79/100. It is one level higher than last year when it received 64/100 points and a bronze rating.
In between the two assessments Versowood has improved its sustainability in all areas. In this assessment round, the criteria were also tightened as Versowood had exceeded the 1000 employee threshold.
Some development measures that contributed to improved results:
- producing the new VSME sustainability report
- implementing a double materiality analysis
- updating the sustainability program and setting new targets
- providing new and improved guidelines and process descriptions for different functions
- expanding the ISO14001 environmental management system certification
Out of all four assessed areas, Versowood scored highest in sustainable procurement. The result reflects the many good practices in Versowood’s wood procurement, like strong management of the wood chain of custody, the development of employees’ and partners’ expertise through training, as well as internal monitoring at harvesting sites.

EcoVadis in short:
EcoVadis is an assessment system for corporate sustainability through which companies can measure, develop and prove their sustainability to their customers, partners, and stakeholders. It helps companies to find their strengths and areas of development in ESG-related matters (Environmental, Social and Governance). With the help of the assessment, companies can also show their commitment to sustainable development and responsible business models.
